SERVE

The Lord once told His disciples, “the Son of man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matt. 20:28). Serving others is on important way we follow Jesus as our Lord. Here are a number of ways you can serve others at Anacostia River Church:
Saturday Prayer and Evangelism

Each Saturday morning, a team of members (and sometimes friends from other churches!) gather to pray for our neighborhood and to visit neighbors to pray and share the message of Jesus Christ with them. No special gifts or training needed. Come for the fellowship and see what the Lord does! Contact Jahill Richards (jahill.richards@gmail.com)

DC127

ARC partners with DC127, an organization whose mission is to unite to reverse the foster care wait list in Washington, D.C. For more information on DC127 visit there website: http://dc127.org/. To find out more about how you can be involved in supporting families through one of ARC’s teams, contact Abby Tseggai (abevolving@gmail.com).

Children’s Ministry

We want our children “from childhood to have been acquainted with the scripture, which are able to make them wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 3:15). So, through children’s ministry, the entire church family joins together to support parents in raising their children “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). Find out how you can partner with us to teach the faith to our children by contacting Jhonna Turner (jamelia.turner@gmail.com).

Praise Team

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col. 3:16). Singing and playing music helps plant the word of God in the hearts of the church family. Play an instrument? Interested in singing? Contact Amos Evans (AmosEvansMusic@gmail.com).

Sound Team

Acts 6:7 says “the word of God continued to increase” as a result of the ministry of seven servants in the church. Sound ministry serves this same purpose. Contact Lloyd Matthews (lloyd.matthews@gmail.com) for more information.

Greeters and Ushers

Want to meet new people to ARC? Help others feel welcomed and at home in our gatherings by becoming a greeter. You just might meet an angel! Interested? Contact Tim Quiram at GreetersAndUshers@gmail.com

Hospitality

Want to entertain angels? Hebrews 13:2 says you should “show hospitality to strangers”! Our hospitality team sets up refreshments at our services and organizes potluck and other fellowship gatherings. For more information, contact Stephanie Munnichi (sm9019a@student.american.edu)

Missions

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:20). We exist to glorify God by making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ from the four corners of the block to the four corners of the globe. Help us take the gospel around the world in the work of missions. To find out more, contact Jahill Richards (jahill.richards@gmail.com).

PTSA at Anacostia High School

We want to do more than rent space at Anacostia High School. We want to contribute positively to the school’s mission to educate young people. To that end, we’re helping the school revive its Parents Teachers Students Association. If you’d like to help, contact Kristie Anyabwile (kristie.anyabwile@gmail.com) or Erin Fagbuyi (e.bibel@gmail.com).
